About the Event
Ian will discuss safety principles for flying safely down in canyons: Â like how to avoid getting sucked in by illusion; things to practice at altitude to develop skills like minimum radius turns, airspeed-altitude-VSI awareness in spite of of being near the ground; and thoughts about hazard assessment and mitigation.
Ian will also share his experience flying back-country airstrips, much of them from his own background flying for missionaries in Chiapas, Mexico, Eastern Ecuador, and the Mosquitia area in Honduras.
